About Me
Are you a dog parent feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated? Or maybe you’re at the beginning of your journey and want to give your dog the best possible start.
Whatever you’re feeling, you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place. Here at Wilde Dogs, the focus is on making sure both ends of the lead feel fulfilled, understood and happy.
I didn’t become a dog trainer because everything came easily. I started exactly where many of my clients are now, feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and wondering what on earth I had got myself into with my deceptively adorable dog… Kevin.
Kevin is incredibly intelligent, which, as it turns out, came with its own challenges. As quickly as he could learn the behaviours I wanted, he seemed to pick up the ones I didn’t even faster. We dealt with everything from lack of focus and endless energy to resource guarding, destructive habits, anxiety, and low confidence.
At some point, I realised I needed to understand what was really going on underneath, rather than repeatedly trying to “fix things.” That’s what sparked my deep interest in how dogs think, learn and communicate, and what they actually need to thrive alongside their humans.
I’m a big believer in kind, ethical, science-based training. That means I work with people who truly want the best for their dog and are willing to invest the time, patience, and consistency needed for lasting change.
Nowadays, I work with dogs and owners in these exact situations every day. And what I see time and time again is this: it’s rarely about not trying hard enough. Most people are doing their absolute best, they just don’t have the right clarity, guidance, or support for their specific dog.
With over five years of experience, I now specialise in hyperactive, hypersocial and anxious dogs, as well as puppies, and, if I’m honest, these are my favourites to work with. There’s nothing better than helping things start to click, and seeing both dog and owner grow in confidence together. Over time, that means calmer walks, better focus, and a dog you feel more connected to and confident handling in everyday life, so that together you can live your best lives.
If this sounds like you, you don’t have to figure it out alone. You can explore my services to learn more about how I can help, or get in touch for a friendly chat about your dog and where you’d like things to be.
